Miss Sāmoa Victoria's first pageant was held in 2000 by our Victorian Sāmoan community and was revived in 2017 after an incident that required a community-based committee to be formed. Since then, our committee have held a pageant every year with the exception of 2020/21 due to covid-19.
The committee is made up of volunteers from the Victorian Community with backgrounds in Creative Arts, Community Advocacy, Financial Services, Cultural Awareness, Music, Fashion and Beauty.
Our culture has unique strengths and perspectives, that our larger Victorian community can benefit from. Our committee actively practices a Samoan proverb 'the pathway to leadership is through service', through serving our community with kindness, respect and integrity.
To empower and support our young women with tools in learning about their ancestral practices through cultural experiences in the wider community in a safe, loving and nurturing environment.
We envision a world in which Pasifika women are empowered, uplifted and equal partners in our society. That our Pasifika women can embrace their culture confidently without fear of judgement.
